The Albany Community Development Corporation (ACDC) was formed in 1995 by a group of City of Albany employees to help the city meet the original need for more and better housing stock. Over the years, the ACDC has constructed new housing and torn down abandoned buildings through the work of the Albany Revitalization Committee. Additional projects include the Friends of the Library and the acquisition and operation of the Rigney in the early 2000s. ACDC was also instrumental in bringing the Main Street Program to downtown Albany.
The ACDC is recognized as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to organizations with 501(c)(3) status may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor to determine deductibility.
